ABOUT ME
My name is Josiah Bout,
I love both computers and artistry. I have walked the line between “technical” and “creative” since I was young. The realization of that was when I discovered the open source 3D animation program “Blender” as a sophomore in high-school. I was instantly hooked. I found that 3D animation allowed me to use my passion for technical problem solving in a beautifully harmonious way with my need to make cool stuff.
I am a 3D generalist
I have 3+ years of experience working full time at a commercial animation studio (ReelCaptivation.com), and I’m currently freelancing full-time. I particularly love lighting because that is when the entire project really starts to come together. I also love motion graphics because there is something very pleasing about making many small shapes symphonize into a story.

I freelance! In my free time I love working on personal art projects, tinkering with computer programming, and playing ultimate frisbee.
